Commencement Ceremony of the Eastern North-South Expressway Construction Project, 2021-2025 & launching of the peak emulation movement months to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital

On 01 January 2023, Ministry of Transport (MOT) celebrated the Commencement Ceremony for 12 component projects under the Eastern North-South Expressway Construction Project in the period 2021-2025 and launching of the peak emulation movement months to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital.

The Eastern North-South Expressway Construction Project in the period 2021-2025 has a total length of 729 km with the design speed: 100 - 120 km/h passing through 12 provinces and cities including: Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang and Ca Mau with a total investment of USD 6.24 billion (about VND 147 trillion), divided into 12 independent component projects.

The Eastern North-South Expressway Project - Phu Yen province section passes through districts, towns and cities including Song Cau town, Tuy An district, Tuy Hoa city, Phu Hoa district, Tay Hoa district and Dong Hoa town. The total length of the project is 90.12km, divided into 02 component projects: Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh section (41.87km) and Chi Thanh - Van Phong section (48.25km). Hung Nghiep participated in the survey and design of Chi Thanh - Van Phong section.

In the first stage, a four-lane expressway was constructed with the roadbed width of 17m. The entire route in Phu Yen province consisted of 6 interchanges and 1 intersection; 60 bridges; 61 underpasses and 1 road tunnel. The total investment of Phu Yen section is about USD 891 million (over VND 20,848 billion). The project is expected to be completed and put into operation by September 2025.
