Description of the Project:

The Eastern North – South Expressway Construction Project in the period of 2020 -2025 has a total length of 729 km, passing through 12 provinces and cities, divided into 12 independent component projects.

Can Tho - Hau Giang component project has a length of 37.65 km with the starting point intersecting with the connecting road with Nam Song Hau - National Highway 1 - Can Tho City and the ending point intersecting with Hau Giang - Ca Mau Expressway. The four-lane expressway (width = 17m) was built in the first phase and will be widened to 24.7m with 4 lanes in the final phase. Design speed of 100km/h,  traffic works of  Grade I, Category A project. Total investment cost was USD 408.75 million (about VND 10,370 billion).

Hung Nghiep provided survey and shop drawing design consulting services for the Joint Venture of Contractors (CC1, Truong Son and VNCN). The scope of work includes the design of expressways, 11 river -crossing bridges, 02 overpasses on NH1 and NH61, interchange IC05, horizontal and longitudinal drainage systems, intelligent traffic systems, lighting systems, etc.

The span layout of some big bridges on the route as follows:

• Flyover crossing NH1: 39,1+9x40+39,1 = 450m;
• Flyover crossing NH61: 39,1 +3x40+26,8+4x40+39,1= 391,2m
• Ngang Canal Bridge: 39,1+3x40+21,8+3x40+39.1 = 351m
• Canal 8000 Bridge: 39,1+40+25,44,24,54+25,44+2x40+39,1 = 283,92 m
• Nang Mau Bridge: 39,1 + 40 + 26,1 + 33,79 + 55,38 + 49,26 + 41,57 +40 + 44,94 + 49,89 + 44,95 + 26,34 + 40,04 + 40 + 39,1 = 619,18m
• Giai Phong Bridge: 126,572 + 25+ 148,68 =300,35m
• Tram Forest Bridge: 166,31+39,1+40+16,8+2x40+25,9+92,59= 462,52m
• Lo Da Bridge: 39,1+3x40+28,8+3x40+39,1 = 356,44m
